Mad RIver Lodge is chartered by the Grand Lodge of Vermont.  In September 2012,  the Grand Lodge Officers, notably the ailing Grand Master Phil Morton, processed from the Waitsfield Church in full dress, and dedicated the new cornerstone for the Lodge building with corn, wine, and oil.  A crowd celebrating a year of community relief and recovery following the Tropical Storm Irene was gathered. (The Relief and Recovery Committee was housed in our dining room for 15 months.)
A symbolic tripod held the cornerstone, attended by Fellowcraft.  A professional videographer captured this unique event, available on YouTube- or ful definition copies avaiable on DVD.  Grand Master Phil passed  away ten weeks later, and relayed that this was one of the most pleasant duties of his tenure.
